Welcome to the Home Tour!

The Encanto-Palmcroft Historic Preservation Association’s biennial home tour and street fair will take place March 29th, 2009. It will feature several homes representing the different and unique architectural styles of the late 1920’s and 1930’s.

“This is our opportunity to share what we feel is one of the cities grandest historical neighborhoods, and an especially beautiful time to view the gardens in full bloom. ” says Steve Vollmer co chairman of this year’s event “ “There’s something for everyone here- Spanish Colonial, Tudor, American Colonial and Cape Cod Revival are just some examples of the homes on this year’s tour. Some have retained much of their original details, such as colorful art-deco tiled bathrooms, wood floors and coved ceilings, while others have been painstakingly renovated to stay true to their historic roots.”

This self-guided walking tour enables guests to go at their own pace and enjoy an afternoon strolling through a neighborhood from days gone by. The green lawns, mature trees and sidewalks are just some of the features that make this area so unique. The tour will also include a large street fair with food, live bands, various arts and crafts, and other unique items by various specialty vendors.
