Where is the neighborhood located?

In downtown Phoenix, AZ  Northwest of 7th Ave and McDowell.  It is bounded by McDowell on the south, Encanto Blvd on the north, 7th Ave on the east, and 15th Ave on the west (see map).

When were the houses built?

Most of the houses were built in the 1930's an 1940's. See our History page.

Do you have a home tour?

Yes.  Every two years in spring, we open up about a dozen homes to the public.  We usually have nearly 3000 people come visit us and enjoy our street fair at the same time.  See our Home Tour page.

What types of architecture are in the neighborhood?

We have many types, including Spanish Colonial, Tutor Revival, American Colonial Revival, Cape Cod, Monterey Revival, Mediterranean Revival, Pueblo Revival, Ranch and others. See our Photos page.

What is EPHPA?

Encanto Palmcroft Historic Preservation Association (EPHPA) is a non-profit neighborhood association that elects a representative board, holds regularly scheduled public meetings, advocates historic preservation, and raises money primarily through its biennial home tour to fund community activities, charitable purposes, neighborhood events.

How many homes are in the neighborhood?

There are approximately 330 homes covering an area of approximately 1/4 square mile.

When and where are the neighborhood meetings?

Neighborhood board meetings (open to the public) are held at the Valley Garden Center (1809 N. 15th Ave) generally on the 2nd Tuesday of each month (except July, usually).  Please contact us () to confirm if you are planning to attend.
